The National Fire Protection Association has developed the Standard on
Disaster/Emergency Management and Business Continuity Programs - NFPA
1600.
Recognized by the Department of Homeland Security, Association of
Contingency Planners and many other organizations and continuity
professionals as the U.S. standard,
On August 3, 2007 legislation signed into law Title
IX, a statute that encourages private industry to meet a common set of
standards for "voluntary preparedness." Organizations certified will be
registered and eligible for potential benefits including:

- Improved Credit Ratings
- A way to differentiate your company from the
competition
NFPA 1600 will be
one of the international standards used to define the Title IX
